Valentine's Mini- Book

Hello all! Sorry this post is so late! I have just now finished a card I've worked on for the past two days. I'm really hoping now that my DH doesn't look at my blog as this is his for Valentine's.

I wanted to make something extra special for him as we probably would not have much of a V-Day since I'm scheduled to work that day. When I saw this tutorial at Elsie's blog, I knew it would be perfect for a mini-card album. Thanks, Siljie!

You fold the pages together to 'close' the card. And each time the recipient 'opens' the page..there's another page right after it. Cute! Really easy too! You can even put a gift card at the end, in the center!

And then, what's perfect is that the TE Cuppie Love Scenes stamps depict exactly what my hubby and I do on our dates!

The supplies I used are mostly from the TE Valentine Key Ingredients. I, then, added some Japanese masking tape, used white opaque pen, American Crafts brads, and Martha Stewart twine.

My DH started out as friends. We used to go biking together (even mountain biking! Yes, I used to do that!!). Then we'd hang out after on the couch and watch TV. One thing led to another. He kissed me (although he claims I made the moves on him first..HA!). And BOOM, we've been inseperable since!

Now you all know how much I LOVE watching movies. Well, there used to be a time, before marriage and a baby, when we would go out and see the latest flick every week. So this scene is perfect!! It's actually my fave of the four! And the sentiment: "You're my Happy Ending.." *sighs* I know, I can be really corny!!

And BOY! Do we like to go out to eat! This reminds me of how we always go to Olive Garden.

And last but not least, I've always wanted to do a hot air balloon ride, especially the one overlooking Napa Wine Country. This is on our to-do list. And don't you just love this sentiment!?

Anyway, thanks for visiting today! I wasn't completely happy with how I took these pics so here are different views that show all of the different pages:

SpiderWoman

Good morning and thanks so much for visiting today! My card for this beautiful Tuesday is for the The Diedrich Dare # 19. It'a all about simple and fun layering.

For this challenge, I inked up Gossamer Cornwand which I've had for a while. I just haven't had the chance to play with her yet. I colored in 'black & white' with touches of purple and pink. I used stickles on her web dress. The CS is Kraft paper & the PP is from American Crafts. I love using this paper for my fairy stamps! The ribbon is cut-up fabric from a kol laj kit. Its rough edges remind me of a tarantula's hairy legs :). And the rub-on is from Hambly.

Happy Tuesday!

Artists

first of all, I'd like to say that I don't think I'm meant to use digital stamps at all - which is unfortunate because I'm racking up quite a bit of them! I wanted to play along at the TGF CHA Relay Race - got Mer Ian downloaded, finally got the printer that loads my Gina K cardstock properly...and although he printed out twice as large as I intended, I was ready to copic him up when suddenly he smeared!! Wahhh!

Then my babe and I have been symptoms of the stomach flu....boooo. And so, I couldn't print a smaller Mer Ian and blowdry my image and learn to be more digi-literate...boo again.

But here is my card for today nonetheless. And it is cute, cute, cute!

Am probably going to keep this card and post it somewhere where I can see it daily. It will probably be my new mantra :).

Super simple card - Kraft paper as CS; Cosmo cricket as the striped PP, Studio Calico as the tab PP (love this!); brads from American Crafts; clear overlay sentiment from kol laj. And this crafty cutie cuppie & matching sentiment are from Taylored Expressions.

And speaking of being creative, take a look at this:

This card was given to me by M, my friend MJ's daughter. She is 8 y.o., mind you...look at the details in her coloring and the elements of her design! She loved the TGF stamps from the moment she discovered them when I made her mom a couple of cards! It was so sweet of her to make me this card. Watch out, stamping world...you've got an upcoming star! :)

Happy Monday!

Be Mine

Hi everyone! My first Valentine's card of the year...and it's with Amy's Sweet November Chanter Heartsong. The CS, PP, chipboard and ribbon are from the Valentine TE Key Ingredients kit. I added some painted paper towels as paper and covering for the chip boards from a kol laj kit. There's also that little strip of fabric with sequins and stitching that I am IN LOVE with!! The sentiment is handwritten with a Micron pen. Miscellaneous items: Gina K CS, Copics, Inkssentials white pen.

Sorry this is so short! My baby and I have a stomach bug and I'm hoping his won't be that bad. Have a great Sunday!

A New Year, A New Blessing

(Darn! The photo is blurry!)

I don't know about you but I know a LOT of pregnant people right now. So today's post is about another 'preggie' card. This time, it's for the sis of one of my best friends. P is preggo with her second child, and having gone through IVF, it hasn't been an easy feat.

I chose to use up some left-over PP I had used for my Christmas cards. This one is from Basic Grey. Am not sure about the teal one as it was from some stash. The pink is from a paper-flower-making kit. The ribbon is from Heidi Grace Designs (Fiskars) and the sequins are from Doodlebug Design Inc. I used New Parents Anya for the stamp and wrote in the sentiment. The 'sewing' is drawn in by an Inkssentials pen :).

It's another work day for me so I'm cutting this short! Till next time, tootaloo!!!

Let's Celebrate the Winners!

Hello everybody! Hope you are all doing well! Thanks for visiting today!

This yummy card is for a very special 3-year-old. Chef Ian made such a delicious cupcake.

The kraft paper, sundae tag, & blue round sticker are from Studio Calico. The green & yellow PP are from Cosmo Cricket. The brads are from American Crafts. The ribbon is from Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients. And I've used Japanese masking tape up on the left corner.

In other news, I didn't get to watch all of the Golden Globes. But I was browsing through the 'net and came across this photo:

Glee won! They won for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy!!!! Woot wooo!!!! I love it!

And while I was browsing, thought I'd add some of my favorite pics/ dresses. In about two weeks is my work's formal holiday party (they're a l'il cheap and hold it in January). I am going last minute and still don't have a party dress. How are these for inspiration???

Sandra Bullock, described as a lady in regal purple. How pretty is that color! Definitely is a stand-out! She won for Best Actress in a Motions Picture - Drama! So deserving! Although I haven't watched "The Blind Side" yet.

Zoe Saldana, who ruled in both Star Trek and Avatar, has this pretty Louis Vuitton number. A lot of people didn't like it, but I think she pulled it off. She is trim enough to pull the bunches of ruffles. And her sassy personality carried off the uniqueness of this dress (& you know I LOVE me some unique!).
Am not sure who this lady is..I know she is from Mad Men. And I don't really like this dress. But thought I'd put it up because she is very VA VA VA VOOM. And I love her hair! This color is very flattering on her!
And seriously, how cute are they!!! I love Emily Blunt's dress -- so romantic and feminine! If I could wear any of these dresses, I'd choose this number! And can I please have Jim from the Office as well!! Haha!!

And last, but not least... one of my favorite actresses of all times. I am so happy that Drew Barrymore finally received an award!!!! She truly deserves it! Although her speech was less than stellar, it was very sincere. I'm not quite sure about this dress though for me...but she looked very beautiful!

On a last note, I'm so ecstatic that Avatar one! James Cameron is brilliant! And besides Mr. Shuester, Jim from the Office, I also have a crush on Avatar guy..both in real life and his avatar...LOL!!

Thanks everyone! A special shout-out to those who read my blog in full (& not just the pics)! Blogging is hard work! :)

You Make My Heart Flutter

What's up, everyone! Hope your week is going well so far. My long weekend went really fast and it's been back to the grind. However, I did get some cards done so I am pretty happy!

First off, raise your hand if you think Mr. Shuester should've won for that Golden Globe and not Alec Baldwin!!! LOL!

Anyway..

Haven't done Flutter Anya in a while. Thought I'd ink and color her up for my niece who's turning 6 at the end of the month. My cousin, who's her dad, said that winter has been cold in New York where they live so I wanted to do a really bright card.

This one is also for Club Anya's Sketch # 2 challenge.

Supplies:
CS - Taylored Express Key Ingredients
PP & Sticker - Cosmo Cricket (Earth Love)
Stamp and sentiment - The Greeting Farm
Flowers- Petaloo
White opaque pen- Inkssentials
Misc - Gina K CS, Japanese masking tape, Copics.

Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

Full of Magic, Wonder, Fun, & Wishes

I scrapped! Hallelujah!!!

I am so GLAD that this week's Farm Fresh Friday's challenge was to incorporate a picture! So I got to stamp AND scrap!

I feel a bit guilty that my 7-mo-old only has about 4 lay-outs :(. But today, I got to scrap about he reminds me of Peter Pan.

I chose the discontinued Peter Pan stamp set from TGF. CS is Gina K and Kraft Paper. PP is from October Afternoon (yellow), Cosmo Cricket (brown & clouds), and Studio Calico (bird). Tags are from 7 gypsies (wishes) and Signature sentiments (Jen Wilson). Letter stickers are from American Crafts. Stamps are done with Copics. The white pen is from Inkssentials.

Peter Pan's hair reminds me of Mattie's :).

I am already thinking about what to do for baby boy's first birthday. My sister, T, actually recommended doing a Peter Pan theme. We can do one side of the room sort of pirate-ish. And one corner as the forest.

I was also thinking of doing something vintage -- maybe like a circus or something nautical. :)

*sighs* I love party planning!

Celebrating...

Good morning, everyone! Today's word for me is CELEBRATE! That's right...I just happened to get the rest of the day off from work today (too many nurses, not enough patients). And although it's one less day of pay, I'm sure a lot of you would agree that sometimes you just need a day for yourself.

And that is exactly what I have today...a day of crafting, some house duties (baby boy is at his grandparents'), and maybe a movie? Oh, and sleep..it was very nice to go back to sleep! Two little boogers are 'making their way' into our home and it hasn't been pleasant. Meet them:

Mattie has been waking up frequently throughout the night because he's teething. It is getting better though. I can't believe my babe is growing up sooo fast!!!

Anyway, this card is for my friend, M, who is as happy and bright as this creation! I chose Ruby (Amy's Wild Sprouts creation at TGF) - she is fun and a l'il sassy! Look at her mouth closely..it's like a smile & smirk at the same time :).

I used a lot of my scraps so unfortunately I can't list all of my supplies. The CS is from Gina K and Kraft paper. The big PP is from Fiskars (Heidi Grace), and the letter stickers are from My Little Shoebox.

Anyway, I'm hoping to squeeze in a movie today...still trying to see if I'm brave enough to go by myself as DH and friends are at work. I've seen a couple by myself as I just LOVE watching movies...hmmm, we'll see. I'd have to look at what's coming out today. Or I'll rent one instead.

Speaking of movies, have you all seen Avatar? It is a MUST-SEE! Trust me, you'll enjoy it! It has everything from action to romance to a life lesson learned...I'm serious! I know Sparkle will be seeing it this weekend.

And call me a dork but I loved it so much that I wanted to see what I'd look like as a Na'vi....hehehe...

The nose is all wrong and I was supposed to pick a pic where I'm not smiling but you get the picture, right? *no pun intended* Here's one where I'm growling and mad:

BUWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! I am having too much fun :D. If you'd like to see what your Avatar would look like, go here.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sending Some (Sprouts & Haiti) Wishes....

I am loving this color combo right now!!! It's everywhere! At TE's Valentine's Kits. And at Club Anya's Wild Card Wednesday.

But what's ironic is I am actually showcasing this card for Club Anya's first Sketchy Saturday. Not for the color combo challenge above :).

Amy's new Sprouts creations at TGF are TOO CUTE! And all four actually match perfectly with my four friends who have upcoming birthdays for the next two months!

This Stella one is for my friend, T, who just happened to cut her hair! She has the most wonderful sense of style and she loves feminine dresses. I decided to color Stella in a more vintage-y kind of way -- dark hair, light skin. By adding the striped PP (DCWV) to the October Afternoon PP (especially the cherry one!), i thought it looked retro. Finished it off with an InkSpelled button and some Martha Stewart baker's twine. I just love Stella's lips! Already formed into a kiss!

On another note, T is a nurse just like I am. Right now, American Airlines is sending doctors and nurses to Haiti for free to help out with the earthquake victims. I've always wanted to help out with a humanitarian cause in a third world country (i've been drawn to those poor cleft palate patients who would otherwise have no hope). Alas, being a new mother who's baby is still getting breast milk, I have little chance to go.

However, I have donated money. I feel that even though our country is in a recession right now, it is still doing better than our neighbors around the world. The poor flood victims of the Philippines have suffered as well.

Then I came across Pioneer Woman's post for today. And her 'blog candy' is a chance to win $500 towards your charity of choice to help the Haitians. And she is donating 10 cents for every comment today. So please, please visit her blog link above. I know that my post is pretty late, but I just went to PW's blog and she's up to 17,500 comments! I know we can do better!

Love,

P.S. Thanks, Sunghee, for relaying me to Pioneer Woman. The Bokeh contest finalists are the most inspiring photography I've seen!!! If you love photography and miss Christmas like I do, that post is a MUST to visit!

My Dad

We are celebrating my Dad's birthday today. We are going to have some Teppanyaki, which is one of my Dad's favorite food. We are set to go around lunchtime so this'll be a short post as I still have to get ready.

I made this card for the Basic Grey Challenge, Week 11. It's a photo inspiration, and I took from it the stripes on the chair and checks on the blinds as well as the colors of blue, gray, and white.

I also followed the sketch for Club Anya's Wild Card Wednesday (Case of the Curious). Except I've altered where the ribbon was supposed to go and I missed the deadline.

A lot of my supplies were from a card-making class about five years ago so I don't know the brand names. The graph paper is from Creative Imaginations and the rub-on is from Basic Grey. The ribbon is from a bunch of different threads I braided together.

I hope you guys have a wonderful Sunday!!! I'll be back mid-week!
