Simple and quick...

IMG_6989

Something a bit different here. Left the stamps uncolored.

Sorry my posts have been so short and rare. Getting our new place situated and our old place ready for renters. And so excited about our upcoming trip in a couple of weeks! Hope you are all doing well!!!

Stamps- TGF's Sunshine Kit.
PP- Taylored Expressions August KI kit.

Just dropped off the little tyke at his Grandparents'. It'll be my first night without him :(. So sad already and it's only 4 pm! Wish I could craft tonight but I've got lots of things on my to-do list. Maybe I could squeeze in a little movie night for hubby and I though, to take advantage of this time alone! :)

Love,

Simply Betty and Enabling...

IMG_6987

Good afternoon everybody! I hope you are all having a great Sunday so far. I actually got to sleep in today. My hubby took Matthew with him to get some breakfast and I stayed in bed until 10:30 :). Which was really nice considering I didn't sleep till 2 am!

My card for you today features Rio from Simply Betty stamps. I was coloring her during my Copics certification class last week and I got asked a few times where I got her. They are really fun characters -- I especially love coloring her big eyes and luscious hair! My other favorite part of this card is the painted paper towel (from kol laj that I crinkled across the top. The sentiment is from TGF (I mixed and matched words), and the PP are from the July Taylored Expressions KI kit.

And then, thought I'd share some of my recent cool purchases here. I'm warning you though...

********* ENABLER ALERT!!!! *******************

Jo told me about shelves that are made specifically for Copics. Love them! I bought three but only two are showing here.

You can arrange your Copics according to the color family. I highly recommend them!

The next product is the Pink ATG I first heard about from Sunghee. I have yet to try it out, but lemme tell you. I have been scrapping for about 13 years now, and my favorite adhesive tool is my Scotch ATG adhesive gun. At first, I thought it would be too heavy and bulky, but it is so easy and fast to use. It's also great for making cards! The pink version came out in honor of breast cancer. 3M, which makes the adhesives, will donate part of its proceeds to the Susan G Komen foundation.

Anyway, I wish this could be a lazy Sunday for me. But gotta clean our place. Till next time!

Cute Grandma

IMG_6969

Made a card out of the "Grandma" stamp from TGF. Materials are mostly from the August Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit.

Isn't she cute? She looks like she's dancing! Speaking of, I can't wait till the Glee premiere next week!

Have a great Thursday!

Current Rinne News

This week...on the Corinne "Front"...

This just in..

1. This 30-something avid stamper just became..

Learned a lot on blending, airbrushing, the colorless blender, and my favorite lesson, the color wheel. Expected a lot more though. Partially because there are so many amazing tutorials out there! Nonetheless, I would recommend this class to everyone. I am so proud to have this:

Thanks to Jo for letting me take these pics with her camera! Here's a pic of us in the class.

Took it on my iPhone & of course, I cut myself off...teehee!

In other news,

2. I am in LOVE with this song. And I just discovered the video.

I think his voice is so crisp, refreshing, angelic, passionate. Bruno Mars has perfect teeth, and he is part Filipino! But most of all, what I adore are the lyrics of this wonderful song!

3. I really, REALLY want to throw an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea party. I've got so many ideas in my head but lack the time/funds to execute them! Instead, I think that I am going to be the Red Queen for Halloween!!! And maybe Mattie will be the rabbit or the cheshire cat or the caterpillar??? Now if only I could get my DH to be the Mad Hatter!!!!

Huge Star!

IMG_6959

I got to make a bunch of cards last week so I am happy to be posting a lot this week. Am super busy at work though so sorry for all the short posts! Hope you are all doing well!

This card is made with the Sweet n Toxic stamp from TGF. Used these cute homemade stickers I got from RVA.

Today I have a short class for work, but I hope to get some crafting done. If not, I'll see you in a couple of days!

Toot-a-loo!

Favorite Mermaid

IMG_6907

Hello, hello!

I made a card for one of my dearest BFFs, Jo!

Used My Little ShoeBox (Pink PP), kol laj (painted paper), and lots of Dear Lizzy embellishments. The stamp, Pearl Tidepool, is my favorite Sweet November mermaid.

Kept the sketch pretty simple as Jo loves clean lines. But stayed true to my style in that it's got LOTS of texture & shine. Pearl's tail is all sparkly and her belt's got some pearls too! :)

Hoping Jo likes it cuz I really do! I think it's actually one of my current faves!

Have a wonderful Sunday,

P.S. And speaking of good friends, did you all see that Sunghee has a new template store, Little Potato House? Sooo coool!

Sweet and Toxic

IMG_6964

Good Saturday morning, everyone, and thanks for visiting!

Today's card features one of the stamps from the Sweet 'n Toxic set at TGF. This Creeper may be sweet but her eyes and pose tell us that she's quite sassy too. Chose this graffiti lookin' paper as part of the fence/ wall. It's from a kol laj kit, and the 'floor' and 'sky' papers are from kol laj as well. Used a Martha Stewart punch for the fence and various miscellenaeous embellies.

Hope you like me street-smart card :). Today, I'm off to get Copic certified with Jo. Should be lots of fun!

XOXO,

IMG_6776

A quick post.

Just wanted to share with you something I made a while back. I enlarged some of these and made colored copies for posters to hang as Valentine's decor at work.

Loved the simplicity and colors. And that piece of lace....wish I remember where I had gotten it.

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Twisted Sister Azalea

IMG_6768

I was watching Project Runway when I was coloring for this card. Twisted Sister Azalea ended up with a couture dress!!

Welcome to the fifth and final sneak peek day of Amy Young's newest additions to her Sweet November line.

When Amy approached me, she mentioned that these Twisted Sisters are really fashion-conscious. So I knew that I just had to go all out with the last twisted fairy. Azalea make look sweet with her big "puppy-dog" eyes, but she is really the most outgoing of the group! It's too bad I saw Amy's curly hair tutorial AFTER I colored Azalea. It would've been perfect for her hair!

With the light hair and fun 'fit, doesn't she look a bit like Madonna in the '80s?? Buwahhahahaha!

Anyway, since this is my last Sweet November Gal card, I wanted to go out with an even bigger BANG and added sparkles! I used collage pauge on her skirt. And some Viva pearl pen on her necklace and the skull's eyes.

IMG_6774

And I held out till the end to make a Halloween card! Just wanted to show the versatility of these new awesome ladies!

Thanks for visiting me during the Twisted Sisters' sneak peeks this week! Remember, they will be available at All That Scraps next Monday, September 6th. Thanks, Amy, for choosing me to be one of your Guest Sweet November Gals! I had TONS of fun!

Twisted Sister Larkspur

IMG_6745

TGIF! I'm not sure what you all are doing for the Labor Day weekend, but I, for one, am excited! You see, as a nurse, I am scheduled every other weekend. This weekend is my weekend "off." Actually, I am lucky enough to have four days off...yay!

So today is the fourth day of the Sweet November Twisted Sisters' sneak peeks. They are made by Amy Young and will be available at ATS this coming Monday, the 6th (Labor Day!).

When I first saw/ heard that these cutie Twisted fairies are named after flowers, I googled them. I found out that larkspurs are purple and complex.

On this card, Larkspur is being insecure about her bat wings as all the other fairies have the delicate ones like the butterflies.' She forgets that her bat wings are strong and tough, making the Twisted Sisters excellent fliers. This is especially important during the night when it is harder to see their enemies in the forest.

You see, Larkspur has no reason to be jealous of her fellow fairies. She is tall and graceful and her dress blooms out loosely just like her namesake. Another lesson learned here, folks. Love your uniqueness.

**my, my, I sure have an active imagination. ***

Used some supplies from my Taylored Expressions August kit (butterfly PP and punched out embellies). I really like the effect of how those three butterflies blend into the background. I made the flower out of some kol laj tissue paper. Other kol laj items are the stamped-on clay in the middle of the flower, the sentiment, and the painted paper.

The card is really busy but I really like how the different textures came out!
Amy, Traci, and Rachel have more sneak peeks of Larkspur in their blogs. I am enjoying how each one of us is showcasing the Twisted Sisters -- I hope you are too!

Have a great Friday and I'll see you tomorrow for our last Twisted Fairy!

Twisted Sister Calladium

IMG_6765

Helloooo everybody!!

Today I am featuring Calladium, the third Twisted Sister from Amy's Sweet November line.

Did a more vintage style with Calladium. The puffy part of her skirt reminds me of how they wore dresses back in the olden days. You could even see some 'puffs' on that blue ball gown of Cinderella.

Anyway, Calladium is ready to cause some trouble. She is dressed to the nines and is yearning for some fun.

Used lots of fall colors on this one. Mixed many patterns as well but kept the concept pretty simple.

Hope you also look at what Amy, Traci, and Rachel did with Calladium!

Sorry so short but I'm pooped from work. Remember that the Twisted Sisters will be available on Monday the 6th at ATS. See you tomorrow for some more sneak peeks!

Twisted Sister Jessamine

IMG_6755

Happy Wednesday, everybody!

So today comes the second sneak peak of Amy's new Sweet November Line - Twisted Sister. Jessamine seems to be the girly girl of the group -- long, curly hair and sporting the latest fashion trend in all of Faeryland.

I see her here heading off for some evening adventure but looking proudly at her new home (I sure can relate). The Fall Season is coming, and with it brings cold weather. Jessamine is making sure her abode will be cozy for the coming Winter, and is quite proud of her window treatments so far.

*chuckles* ok, ok, enough of the new home talk...

Jessamine is READY to play some tricks and enjoy the night. The trees are flourishing with vibrant colors, and it's time to spread some magic with the other folks. For she sure LOVES being outdoors as much as she likes relaxing in her blissful cottage.

For more Jessamine, make sure you visit Amy, Traci, and Rachel!

Supplies:
Tree PP- DCWV
"Lawn" overlay- Hambly
Fence punch- Martha Stewart
House- My Little Shoebox
Sentiment- Dear Lizzy, American Crafts
Frames- K & Company

Hope you like Jessamine as much as I do! She'll be available, along with the other Twisted Sister stamps, this next Monday, the 6th. Until then, I hope you'll join me tomorrow for a sneak peak at the next edgy fairy, Calladium!
